The Van Vliet Collection

Brief – the clients were leaving behind their traditional furniture as they downscaled into their new house, and specified they wanted a collection of pieces that would be contemporary, and as quiet and pared back as possible.

Execution – we chose to make the Van Vliet Collection in Siberian Birch as the grain is not dominant and the tone of the timber is fresh and naturally contemporary. The considered simplicity of the designs flouted decorative features, rather focusing on high quality mechanisms to ensure that daily interaction with the furniture was calm and smooth. The interior drawer sides of the all cabinets featured aromatic cedar wood which has a beautiful scent and added to the sensory experience of furniture.
